RACE GIVEAWAY: Jump into a Spartan Race and Reap the Rewards!

It’s been a month since my running of the Boston Marathon and I’m officially stating that I have Post-Marathon Withdrawal Syndrome.  It’s real, Poodles. And I’ve got it. Bad. I even blogged about it some months back. Read about the condition HERE. It’s only a matter of time before it pops up as a legitimate affliction on WebMD.  You’ll find it under the “Hysterical Conditions for Insane Runners” tab. Watch. It’s coming. And you can say you heard it here first.

Since running Boston, I’ve been doing the whole Reset and Recharge thing to get back to loving running again. I know it sounds crazy, but I hate when running becomes a chore. After a marathon, that’s exactly what it becomes to me. I always find that after a marathon I need to reset my ‘Love of Running’ button.  So, during the post-26.2 recovery period I always mix things up with my training.  I dig shaking things up a bit. Spin, cycling, goat yoga (OH YES I DID! And it was glorious! Recap to follow!), boot camp, trail running and a whole lot of: “Hmmmmmm…..what can I conquer next?”  Which brings me back around to one of my old favorites: The Spartan Race. As you can see below, I loves me a Spartan Race!

  1. I am a little bored with running night now and I’m always up for something crazy (will try anything once). i am going to have to ask around and see if I know anyone up for some crazy.

  2. is this the one where they electrocute you at the end but give you a beer to make up for it? actually, electric shock would feel good right now! never done a spartan, i’m thinking ironman 70.3 might be a fun next venture but of course that would lead to a full, right? have you done that yet?!! cheers!

  3. Hey – I did a Girls on the Run 5k this morning. Nice event and kind of tugs at your running heartstrings to see all the girls running in such a positive environment. Members of the US Women’s National Field Hockey team ( based here in Lancaster) led the assembled crowd in warmups.
As far as Spartans and Sparty and Sparta and Spartacus I am happy not dodging obstacles when I exercise. Sorry.
I am already am a member of Marriott Rewards and I recently earned two nights and four days at the Motel 6 on Route 7 or the Motel 7 on Route 6, I can’t recall which. You may remember the hotel was featured as a crime scene once on ” Cops.” You get four days and you have to figure out where to sleep for only two of the nights which is not bad.
Electric shock – Bad. Beer – Good.
